Tools to Handle Any Situation

J.K.—Narconon Melbourne Student

The simple aims of the Narconon program are to help a person thoroughly detox from the harmful effects of drugs. Once this has been completed, we help pinpoint the problems that were present in life before their drug use began to try to isolate the cause of their addiction. Finally, we help to furnish the person with life skills education so they have the tools they need to apply to life beyond rehab. Part of this road is to really look at the damage that one has caused in their life and most importantly, the friends and family in it.

As part of this training stage of the program, our students get the chance to look at how their actions have caused ill effects on those around them. They can then go about making up the damage to those people, once they really understand the damage they have created. It’s uncomfortable and hard to confront at times, but really taking responsibility for one’s own actions isn’t without discomfort. We see that a person becomes more “whole” after this stage of the program as they have really looked at their own wrongdoings and taken steps to correct them.

“The course has given me the tools to live life drug-free and has given me the tools to handle any situation that I may face in life. It has helped me to rebuild the damaged relationships with my partner, my daughter and my parents. It has saved my life.”
